Business Trip to India and Thailand for the Trilateral Commission

Last week, I joined the annual Trilateral Commission meeting in Delhi, India, where I spoke about Japan’s commitment to advancing DFFT at the upcoming G7 summit.
In hopes of deepening ties between G7 and G20, I held a bilateral meeting with the Indian Minister of Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Railways, Mr.Vaishnau. I also met with the Singapore Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Gan Kim Young, to discuss the mutual use of online payments, among other technologies.
During my layover at Bangkok airport, I also had the opportunity to visit an incubation center where many start-ups promoted by the Thai CP group are located. I exchanged views with the General Manager of the CP Group, Chairman Tanin, on digital technology and other topics.
Due to my duties in the Parliament, I had to depart late on Friday night (or really, early Saturday morning) and returned late on Sunday night (again, really Monday). So, I basically spent two nights in a row in the air.
